we're all sick, let's compare hobbies

: Apologies for 'thick-as-pigshit ... irritating fuckers' banshee howls of 'Pre-:emptive Strike' post last night, Vauung utterly lost its rag as dreams of :darkness and anonymity gave way to high-school reunion pranks and :psychotherapy -- Collapse Co. in particular knows where to find Vauung's Katak-rage button
I think the doctor has left, but we thank you for the above ameliorative, and compliment (?)
There is substance to v's complaints that all this philosophical banter is blocking real discussion of something more interesting. Please note we do not argue for the revolutionary potential of the couch-potato classes, nor do we long for a return to the village green - if we did, would we waste energy actually arguing with V.? The irritant that keeps us scratching at this wound is v's now totally explicit inconsistency that (a)all our human hobbies (even shopping'n'earning like 'decent people') are worthless minutiae next to the coming oblivion but (b)his hobbies allow him a gnostic insight into said oblivion. These two want it both ways, they want to be a masochistic worthless sub-microscopic nothing but also to sadistically survey and pronounce on the entire universe. And we _do_ detect something distinctly cartesian about Vauung's coruscating ether-dwelling intellect and The Ruin's sorry face and tattered black jumpers.
: to remove it really would leave nothing but sadness (so speaks a sick animal)
Beautiful admission - 'it' is not 'true' in any transcendent sense, it's a way out of nihilism, something to justify life (albeit in a perverse roundabout way). I'm not sure doc's diagnosis was so off-the-mark here. That accepted, the question then surely has to be one of production or non-production of intensities, nervous-system excitation, etc, dare one say _regardless_ of contribution to 'the cause' (and isn't that a liberation, after all?) - and here we find vauung's bag of tricks has severely lost its sparkle, falling into pretension and morbidity. We say this without malice or huffiness, and if v. is satisfied with and defensive of his lot, and must explicity raise the academic futility of anything else there's not much point, and we too will find somewhere else to exercise our fingers, although admittedly they were never so exercised as when stoked up by vauung-hatred.
We're already grateful to reza for allowing us to abuse this forum for things non-persian-black-magic-related. Shame it seemed to spin out into the same schopenhaurian mess once again...after recharging we may make a further attempt..
